UK based StackaWraps has announced an investment from two of the print industries most prominent individuals, Ben Moss and Rob Kelly. Moss and Kelly independent owners of various display graphics businesses, and previous directors of the likes of Service Graphics Ltd and St Ives plc have taken a shareholding in StackaWraps.

Moss says, “I have been working in the graphics and display markets for 3 decades and have not seen a product as clever as this one since the invention of the “Pop Up” display system, it genuinely made me excited to see if I could get involved”.

The StackWraps method is a unique system that reproduces a photo-realistic large scale 3D version of any product. Giant drinks bottles, baked bean cans, perfume bottles or any type of packaged product can be produced cost effectively and without the need of a 3D printer or expensive 3D model maker. The products are distributed flat packed and assemble in minutes.

Richard Peter, director of StackWraps and co-founder of the product range says, “My business partner Natasha Leigh and I have spent the past 3 years developing the StackaWraps process. The clever part is the method to convert a 2D image into a 3D image and at the same time create a set of construction drawings for the manufacture of the frame work that make up the displays.”

Kelly says, “ When I saw an image of a six foot high drinks bottle that looked like a solid object I thought well I’ve seen this before, so what? Then I realized that it was made up of a photo realistic graphic wrap zipped around a frame that flat packs! The products look real, not like a 3D printed and painted version or a 3D model and they have all the shadows, curves and features of the real thing. In fact if you look at a photo of one in isolation it looks like a normal product shot until you realise it is as tall as a person. The guys who run the business have great inventiveness and have brought to market a new product that will provide marketing “cut through” for their clients. I have no doubt StackaWraps will have a major impact on the display and events markets and am proud to be involved in their journey.”
