SCREEN Americas Joins Flexible Packaging Association as Demand for Digital Inkjet Solutions in Industry Multiplies

SCREEN Americas announces its status as an official member of the Flexible Packaging Association, an organization dedicated to providing educational resources and networking opportunities for both converters and suppliers. The decision to obtain membership derived not only from SCREEN Americas’ continued success in the adjacent label market with its flagship Truepress Jet L350UV SAI UV inkjet narrow press, but from the interest the company has received since announcing the future launch of the Truepress PAC830F for the flexible packaging market.
A water-based inkjet press, the Truepress PAC830F will be the latest addition to SCREEN Americas’ label and packaging portfolio. With print speeds of 75 meters per minute for materials up to 830 millimeters wide and a resolution of 1,200 dots per inch, the Truepress PAC830F is ideal for standing pouches and center seal and gusset bags. With SCREEN’s digital inkjet technology, flexible packaging converters will realize the many benefits of digital printing while still maintaining conventional speeds and having access to the same materials for packaging.
The Flexible Packaging Association estimates that since the organization’s inception in 1951, the industry has grown from approximately $400 million to $31 billion. “We’re very excited to join FPA,” said Ken Ingram, president of SCREEN Americas. “The initial interest we've seen from this segment has reinforced our evaluation that the flexible packaging market will be extremely important for us over the next several years. We recognize the need to keep abreast of industry regulations and techniques required to remain sustainable.”
Based in Annapolis, Maryland, the Flexible Packaging Association serves as a liaison between manufacturers and government agencies to address environmental issues and industry regulations. It hosts annual conferences, provides its members with access to research and content and publishes FlexPack Voice magazine. For more information visit flexpack.org.
