W+D 234d from W+D Machinery Company (Booth 1253) is an industrial-grade, high-speed four-color inkjet envelope overprint press, developed specifically for short-run envelope overprint applications. The four-color piezo drop-on-demand technology prints up to 30,000 #10 envelopes per hour at 600 x 600 dpi with four grey levels, the visual equivalent of 1,000 dpi. At 600 x 300 dpi (visual equivalent of 700 dpi) 60,000 #10 envelopes are printed per hour. With its precise high speed paper transport and Hi-Def water-based inkjet inks, offset competitive work can be produced on the industry standard of 24lb white wove paper stock.

The multi-format  high-performance rotary feeder design supports a wide range of mail products, such as  envelopes, stationery, business cards, postcards, tags and Tyvek, making the 234d a complete print shop for short-run mailing work. It has a multi feeder size range from 3.2 inches x 4.5 inches to 10 inches x13 inches, and easily handles papers from 16lbs to 90lbs bond basis weight.

The 234 d ergonomic design enables quick and easy size changes with no limitations in regards to window envelopes. The rotary feeder accepts up to 2,000 envelopes and is reloaded on the fly or can be also fed with a high-volume (5,000 and larger autoloader). Continuous operation is further supported by the ability to replace high capacity one liter ink tanks while printing. ICC profiling enables consistent print quality across an array of paper qualities.

The W+D 234 d integrated RIP is designed to support 1:1 marketing with the printing of variable-data and/or barcode printing from a database. Images can be individualized for each piece. PDF, TIF, GIF, JPG, PDX, BMP, PS, EPS and CSV (personalized direct mail) file formats are supported.
